"This is my second course with Matthew Barnett, the first being the NLP Practitioner course. Once again, I am hugely impressed with the detailed content information, the great manner in which he explains/teaches the material as well as his honesty and directness with regard to the ethics behind being a certified Life Coach."
"Another great course from Matt! Easy to understand the content, great bite size chunks and superb knowledge. Look forward to the next course"
"I love all Matt's courses. So well explained, interesting & well laid out. This is my 3rd course i have done with Matt and i have just signed up to my 5th."
We are starting with the main elements of life coaching, explaining what it is, its links to other therapies, the skills you’ll coach in and of course what to avoid. These will be built upon throughout the course.
There are certain people, problems and goals you are more than likely going to come across during your time as a Life Coach. You might as well start preparing for these now as well as preparing to deal with situations around prejudice and discrimination.
Life coaching can be split into two main types: holistic and rapid. These are very different approaches but they are both valid. The needs of your clients will determine which one you use.
There’s lots of misinformation out there to do with life coaching. We will make it clear what skills you need and how life coaching differs from other professions. Don’t fall into the pitfalls of the misconceptions.
There are a few models you can use to understand why clients are struggling and get them back on track. Finding balance, keeping relationships healthy and following our own desires are all really important.
Clients will need to change something in their life to become happier. It’s not easy to follow through with positive change when their thoughts are against them. Clients need to take back control of their lives.
The principles of counselling are used in most types of therapy including life coaching. These skills will help you to connect with your clients and work through their issues to bring about better outcomes.
Working towards goals is a key part of life coaching. But you need to make sure the goals set are positive and safe so clients will come out the other end improved. The three minute seminar technique helps with this.
Clients’ thoughts and how they see themselves is really important. It can hold them back or keep them moving forward. If they don’t believe they can get better, they won’t. They are going to encounter setbacks and they need to feel able to deal with that.
This course has been accredited by CPD with 5 CPD hours. Once you finish this course you are eligable to obtain a CPD completion certificate.
